The new candidate proposed by the PLDM for the post of Prime Minister, Chiril Gaburici, is not known in society and represents a surprise for everyone. Such statements were made in a talk show on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Journalist Ion Terguta said the people don’t know Gaburici. “It is a surprise for me and not only me. The problem is that this candidate is not known. In general, this is a fully unknown candidate. I think he will be controlled politically,” he stated.
Journalist Valeriu Renita also said that Gaburici is not known. “I was also surprised. In fact, nothing can be surprising in Moldovan politics. We had Prime Ministers who came from the business sector such as Vasile Tarlev and Ion Sturza. The governments headed by these weren’t the worst. Maybe we have one more chance. We will see what this businessman does,” he stated.
Constitutional law expert Vitalie Gamurari considers the candidacy of Gaburici was agreed long ago. “The fact that another candidate was proposed immediately after Leanca’s failure shows that a decision on Gaburici was taken long ago. The Government will be headed by a person who will do nothing on his own initiative. In this case, we risk breaking the relations with the Europeans. Leanca has a good image abroad. For the European functionaries, any such change can mean a change of policies,” he said.
According to university professor Alexandru Cuznetov, the fact that Leanca was left unjustifiably in the shadow will cause suspicion inside and outside the country. “No Moldovan Premier managed to do so many things as Iurie Leanca. Those who took such a decision didn’t take into account the country’s interests, but the personal interests,” he said.
