The Shor Party’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Reghina Apostolova was excluded from the electoral race. The decision was taken by the Centru branch of the Court of Chisinau after examining an application submitted by the Chisinau District Electoral Council, IPN reports.
The Council’s application to annul the registration of candidate Reghina Apostolova was based on a notice from the National Unity Party, which warned that the candidate’s election caiman is financed with foreign funds and this appeared in an electoral advertisement alongside a Russian singer.
Reghina Apostolova said the decision was illegal and represented an attack on the Shor Party in which an increasing number of people put their trust.
The decision can be challenged in the Appeals Court during a day.
Eleven candidates will now compete for the mayoralty of Chisinau municipality.
