The Broadcasting Coordination Council recommends the Moldova broadcasters to disseminate a video clip about the transition from analog to digital terrestrial television designed by the ICT Ministry in cooperation with the National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova”, IPN reports.
The video will be broadcast in prime time between April 1 and August 1, 2017. It emphasizes the advantages of digital television, such as more TV channels in ether received free of charge, much higher quality of image, stereo sound, high-definition HD image and auxiliary services.
Moldova is switching over from analog to digital terrestrial television in accordance with the international commitments assumed by it and the program approved by the Government. The new broadcasting system is already functional on the largest part of the country. To receive digital terrestrial television, one must have a TV set that supports the DVB-T2 standard with H.265 compression or that is connected to a convertor of this standard. The transition process ends on December 31, 2017.
