The Parliament’s Standing Bureau agreed to allow the cameramen to enter the assembly hall, Speaker Andrian Candu said at the beginning of the April 14 sitting of the legislature. He welcomed the presence of the cameramen in the hall, IPN reports.

The Speaker noted that the cameramen have access to the assembly hall based on an agreed principle of rotation.

Earlier, civil society staged a number of protests, demanding that the press be allowed to enter the assembly hall of Parliament and accusing the authorities of hampering the mass media’s access to the sittings. The Parliament’s administration said the reporters will have free access, but there is no specially laid out place for cameramen. Afterward, a working group that included representatives of the legislative body and civil society examined the possibilities of ensuring the cameramen’s presence in the hall and agreed a principle of rotation so that everyone could film the sittings.
