Independent candidate in single-member constituency No. 33 Călin Vieru calls upon the people to vote for unionist parties and unionist independent candidates and not to vote for the bloc ACUM because the representatives of this bloc are anti-unionists and in 2015 mounted protests in concert with Igor Dodon and Renato Usatyi.

In a news conference at IPN, Călin Vieru said the assertions about him made by the candidate of the bloc ACUM Andrei Năstase, that he did nothing for the Republic of Moldova and is not a serious opponent, are not worthy of a man who aspires to the seat of MP.

As a businessman, Călin Vieru said the commercial organizations he founded during the past 20 years paid over €3 million lei rental alone to the state. He also created and maintained about 110 jobs and in 2018 paid over €1 million  VAT into the state budget. As a citizen, he financially supported a number of cultural events, such as the opening of the Grigore Vieru Museum House, the organization of festivals and jubilee concerts, the printing of a number of books and their transition into several languages. As a politician, in 2009 he struggled to remove the Communist government and was on the front line at the April 7 protests.

Călin Vieru also spoke about his rival on behalf of the Democratic Party Constantin Țuțu, calling him ironically a person who can really work miracles. He gave as an example the use of a number of trolleybuses from several routes to open a trolleybus route to Ialoveni. He anticipated that Constantin Țuțu’s next step will be the building of a cable car from Durlești to Chisinau.

As to the Head of State, the candidate said this showed “talent” in taking incorrect decisions and thus risks being suspended for the seventh time. This time for the release of the Moldovan pilots from the Taliban in Afghanistan who continue to be held hostage now in Moscow and this is the blame of President Igor Dodon. Călin Vieru also criticized the President’s decision to create the National People’s Movement that is actually a paramilitary body. Such incorrect maneuvers by the President in another country would have led to removal from office. Călin Vieru called on President Dodon to concede his post to Vladimir Roșca, the Party of Socialists’ candidate in constituency No. 33, as this would cope better than he as President.
