The police confiscated 25,000 hemp plants estimated at 20 million lei, which were found near Ioan Cuza village of Cahul district. The plants were burnt, Info-Prim Neo reports. A glass of dried and crushed hemp on the black market costs between 250 and 500 lei, the Ministry of the Interior says on its website. The cannabis drug made from the dried leaves and flowers or resin of the hemp plant can seriously damage the health of those that use it as it affects the nervous system, the Ministry says. The number of hemp plants found in Moldova is on the rise. This year the police have discovered 1,739 drug-related offenses.
