Charges have been formally brought against Ruslan Nedov, deputy head of Cahul district, in a case involving the alleged embezzlement of 1 million lei through procurement fraud. He has been accused of illegally favoring a bidder in a tender process.
The suspect has not been taken into custody, the National Anticorruption Center said.
Nedov is among eight other suspects from Cahul district arrested a few weeks ago on charges of bribery and abuse of office. His boss, Marcel Cenusa, is also prosecuted.
