The Cabinet approved the national qualifications framework that defines the main principles of adjusting the national qualifications system to the European one, ensuring thus its modernization and transparency, IPN reports.

The national qualifications framework has eight levels that include the general, professional-technical and higher education. The levels are based on three categories of learning results: knowledge, abilities, and competence.

The document recognizes and equals the length of studies and qualifications obtained before the coming into force of the Education Code approved in 2014, which introduced changes to the structure of the education and qualifications systems, and of those defined in the national qualifications framework (2017) and the European qualifications framework.

To efficiently implement the document, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research will work out the necessary methodologies and will compile the national qualifications register that will be public and will ensure transparency in the education and training system of Moldova.
