By adopting the law that bans the retransmission of talk shows and news and military programs produced in a series of counties, the NATO infrastructure is being prepared in Moldova, Socialist MP Bogdan Tardea stated in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.

The MP said the adoption of amendments to the Broadcasting Code forms part of a series of actions. First of all, the adoption of the law is associated with the visit paid by Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu, Deputy Parliament Speaker Iurie Leanca and the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc to the United States on December 5 and with the opening of the NATO Office in Chisinau on December 8. “The NATO infrastructure is practically being prepared because the struggle against Russian propaganda is nothing else, but a concept of the Pentagon,” stated Bogdan Tardea.

Democratic MP Eugen Nikiforchuk said the goal of the law is to ensure the information security of the state. If the Russian Federation ratifies the European Convention on Transfrontier Television and its TV channels work based on the international standards, the retransmission of news bulletins, military programs and talk shows could be resumed. “We should understand that now the Russian Federation indeed can influence Moldova’s internal policy by broadcasting news and feature programs that manipulate, misinform and tell lies, as it happened in the recent past,” stated the MP. He added that the Russian channels also discredit Moldova’s values, the values of the EU and other foreign partners.

The bill to amend the Broadcasting Code proposed by the MPs of the Democratic Party and the European People’s Party of Moldova was adopted by Parliament in two readings by the voters of 61 MPs of 101 on December 7.
