By 4:00 PM, 1,063,400 voters had cast their ballots at polling stations within the country, representing over 38.3% of registered voters, reports IPN.
According to data from the Central Electoral Commission, voter turnout in Chișinău reached 43.8%. In Bălți, the participation rate exceeded 40.6%, while in Cahul it was close to 34.6%. In the Gagauzia autonomous region, turnout was 40% by 4:00 PM.
The gender ratio among voters nationwide is 54.7% women to 45.2% men.
Polling stations are open until 9:00 PM, with the option to extend hours by two hours if needed.
In the diaspora, around 200,000 voters had participated by the same time.
