The Government is committed to creating appropriate working conditions for economic entities and the employers should have the same attitude towards the employees, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said after a meeting with representatives of the National Employers Confederation, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The tasks and responsibilities concerning the country’s economic development are common. We must increase the degree of social solidarity, promote a better social policy and built a decent future for all the sections of people,” said Vlad Filat. He reiterated the important role played by the employers in the social partnerships and ordered that all the members of the Cabinet obligatorily take part in the meetings of the tripartite commission on collective negotiations and consultations.
The sides decided to summon an assembly of businessmen in the near future, most probably at the start of May, to discuss the problems they encounter.
The chairman of the National Employers Confederation Leonid Cerescu said it was a constructive and helpful discussion. “We already agreed the structure of cooperation, based on the dialogue between the employers and the Government, which is aimed at reinvigorating the economy and stimulating development,” stated Leonid Cerescu.
He asked the authorities to pay greater attention to the initiatives and suggestions put forward by the employers when examining normative and legal documents and to more actively become involved in the formation of the sector and district tripartite commissions on collective negotiations and consultations.
They also discussed the problem of fare rises. It was stressed the necessity of reanimating the sector commission on collective negotiations and consultations. Discussions will be held with the Transport Ministry and the employers working in the field. If no solutions are identified, more meetings will be held to address the issue. A series of problems mentioned by representatives of the employers will be examined by the Ministry of Finance.
