Businessmen working in Chisinau and the local authorities came together at a business forum to discuss problems faced by the economic entities, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vasile Parlog has worked in the housing sector for 10 years. He said the relations between the company and the local administration are good, but the Chisinau Council not always approves the decisions at the expected time. “Sometimes, we wait for 6-7 months or even one year,” he said, adding that the State Construction Inspectorate also delays issuing construction authorizations for 3-4 months. “We waste time and human resources and do not manage to put the buildings into operation by the expected time,” Vasile Parlog said.
Another businessman, Constantin Moldovan said his company is inspected very often “I have a small cafe and I monthly face inspections, either from preventive medicine, sanitary-veterinary or consumer protection institutions or the police. They want bribe. If you do not give them bribe, more inspections are carried out,” he said.
Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said the relations between the Chisinau administration and the economic entities should be based on trust and the parties should fulfill their obligations. He considers that there must be a permanent dialogue between the economic community and the administration, while the relations should be continuously improved. The mayor said the problems highlighted by the businessmen will be analyzed so as to identify solutions to them.
Representatives of more than 500 companies took part in the forum. Only 28,000 businesses of the over 85,000 officially registered in the municipality of Chisinau work at present.
