The three buses with Moldovan students studying in Romania did not go further the Romanian customs. The students wanted to go to Chisinau from Iasi through the Sculeni Customs to make common cause with the Chisinau protesters. “The head of the customs post said he would allow us to go, but the Moldovan customs officers announced they received orders to allow no one to pass,” Victor, a student studying in Iasi, told Info-Prim Neo by phone.
After about an hour, the Moldovan customs officers told them they were allowed to pass. Approximately ten students tried to cross the border in cars, but went back after they got to the Moldovan customs post.
“They told us that the Moldovan customs authorities said they should provide units of transport for every young person that wanted to go home. It is an aberration. One day earlier, they did not allow us to pass, but now they offered to take us home. It is too dubious,” Victor said. At 15.00, the buses went back to Iasi. A group of students studying in Cluj remained, decided to cross the border at all costs.
According to Victor, the given students managed to cross the border and reached Ungheni, where they bought tickets for Chisinau. But suspect persons in a Jeep forced them to return the tickets.
The Moldovan students held protests in all the important universities in Romania, in solidarity with the persons that protest in Chisinau against the election outcome.
About 200 persons were heading for the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau on Thursday, at about 12.00.
