Bulgaria’s Embassy in Moldova denies press reports on visa-free regime for Moldovans

Officials from the Bulgarian Embassy in Moldova have dismissed recent press reports that the Bulgarian Government abolished the visa regime for Moldovan nationals. Teodor Todorov, the press secretary of the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Chisinau, has told Info-Prim Neo that the embassy didn’t receive any official confirmation from the Bulgarian authorities. In particular, the country’s Foreign Ministry denied that the Government of Bulgaria had signed any agreement to that end, cited in press reports. Therefore, the Bulgarian Consulate in Moldova will further follow its regular program in issuing travel visas. Info-Prim Neo Agency quoted on Thursday, May 8, a number of Bulgarian and international agencies as reporting that Bulgaria abolished the visa regime for Moldovan citizens.
