Moldova is supported by Bulgaria in its European aspirations. Such a message was transmitted by Bulgarian Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin, who came to Moldova on a visit at the invitation of his Moldovan counterpart Natalia Gherman, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Kristian Vigenin said he hopes the Vilnius Summit will be one of the great successes of Moldova. “I must say that Bulgaria also supports the territorial integrity of Moldova. The EU will play an even greater role in resolving the Transnistrian dispute. There are no unsolved problems between Moldova and Bulgaria and we have a great area for cooperation. The Bulgarian community in Moldova is a natural cooperation bridge between the two countries and we believe that this community will help Moldova cover the road to the EU,” said the Bulgarian official.
He also said that the experience of Bulgaria, which covered this road not long ago, can be useful for Moldova and the two countries can actively share this experience.
The official was asked about his opinion on Moldova’s fight against corruption. He said that this problem exists in many countries, including EU member states. “My impression is that the Government of Moldova is making effort and achieved results in this respect,” stated Kristian Vigenin.
The Bulgarian minister will have meetings with Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Head of Parliament Igor Corman.
