Buildings with a total surface of 326,000 sq m have been built in nine months of this year

The total surface of the new buildings erected in the R. of Moldova, in nine months of this year is of 326,300 square meters, a 10% increase compared to the similar period of the last year. At the same time, the rhythm of increase in surfaces put into operation, reduced this year in comparison to the corresponding period of 2005, when the growth rhythm of dwelling surfaces put into operation constituted 35%. Independent experts affirm that the decrease in the rhythm of growing the surfaces given into property is caused by the rapid growth of prices for plots, construction material, but also electric energy, fuel, transportation and other services. On the other hand they report market saturation on some segments, especially, on the segment of elite estates. In nine months of this year, the total volume of assembly-construction works were valued at MDL 2,702 mln, marking a 22% increase in comparison to the same period of 2005.
