The office block of the Maintenance Department of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” was broken in and vandalized last night. The water supplier said it was preliminarily established that the doors of five offices were damaged, but no valuable objects were stolen, IPN reports.
In a press release, the company said the surveillance cameras show two men of an average age who allegedly broke into the building through the back door. The guards said they heard no noise.
“We had guests. We hope the competent bodies will elucidate the case. It is a paradox, but nothing valuable was stolen. More valuable for someone were probably particular documents from the given offices. We weren’t scared by this incident. The employees are not checking to see if all the documents are in place,” said Veronica Herta, director general of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”.
The first who saw the vandalizing were the employees who went to work this morning. According to them, the reserve door from behind the building was broken. The individuals entered five offices. The police examined the building and are to study the images from video cameras installed nearby to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
According to the water supplier, no such cases have been witnessed since the 1990s.
