The draft budget law is used as a piece of a political game, Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said, stressing he understood why the bill has not been yet submitted to Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This condition seems cunning and not at all nice to me. The election of the head of state should be never linked to the adoption of the budget or vice versa. Every bill has its role, place and order,” Marian Lupu said after the meeting of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau. According to Marian Lupu, the draft budget law should have been filed to Parliament long ago, by October 1. “If it had been presented by October 1, it would have been passed by now. I see no connection between these two things. The draft budget law should be submitted as soon as possible. The legislature can work in parallel, on the election of the President and on the 2012 budget law,” said the chairman of the Democratic Party. In a news conference on Wednesday, the leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said the legislative body must first pass the 2012 state budget law and then return to the election of the head of state. According to him, the holding of the presidential elections in the middle of December can endanger the process of adopting very important legislative acts.
