Bubuieci man who burned in fire was first stabbed

The elderly man from Bubuieci commune of Chisinau municipality, who allegedly burned in his home in a fire, was stabbed by two young men who later set the house on fire in order to destroy the evidence. General Police Commissariat spokesman Adrian Jovmir has told Info-Prim Neo that the fire happened at the end of April. The medical-legal examination showed that the man died as a result of knife wounds in the chest. The suspects were arrested on May 17. They are an 18-year-old man who was earlier tried and is under psychiatric supervision and a juvenile aged 15. When questioned, they related how they killed the house owner. They said they went to see the victim and drank alcohol together. Afterward, they stabbed him with a knife and then set fire to the house. The two face 12 to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment for intentional murder.
