Brutally killed for money sent by relatives from Italy

A young man aged 21 from Varzaresti village, Nisporeni raion was brutally killed for two packages and EUR 500 received from the relatives working in Italy. The killers, two brothers, are from a neighbour village, Vulacanesti. According to the press centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on November 28, around 19.00, Sergiu Gorceac was coming back home with two parcels received from Italy when he was stopped by Andrei and Igor Ulinici aged 20 and 26. They attacked him with a cudgel, depriving him of the parcels, the money and even the clothes his was wearing. The victim was hospitalized in the intensive care section of the raion hospital, where he died on December 4, after several surgeries. After a search at the home of the suspects, the policemen found the stolen goods and the clothes with blood marks as well as the cudgel. At present Andrei and Igor Ulinici are in custody. Because the victim did not die on the spot they will not be condemned for murder. However, according to the article 195 of the Penal Code they might spend 20 years in prison.
