The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) renewed the licenses of seven national broadcasters for a period of seven years on October 7. These are the public TV channel Moldova 1 and six radio stations, namely Vocea Basarabiei, GRT, PRO 100 Radio, National FM Cultural, Radio Orhei, and Radio Dor, IPN reports.
Another seven broadcasters - TV channels 41 Taraclia, Bizim Dalgamiz, ENI AI and radio stations Retro FM, Like FM Ruskoe Radio, and Noroc FM – will be monitored by the BCC after the election campaign to see whether they deserve their broadcast licenses to be extended for seven years or not.
The Council also decided to monitor the channel Alt TV, which applied to have its name changed into Orhei TV. The channel’s representative explained that they want to reorient their editorial policy to another target audience. The BCC will take a final decision after it examines the monitoring results.
