On Thursday, February 22, the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) unanimously agreed to grant the frequency 97.5 in Taraclia to the radio station Albena that has used this frequency until present. The situation of the radio station remained undecided after the Council’s meeting of February 13, when four members voted to grant the frequency and four against. Some members of the BCC made reference to the fact that the broadcasting schedule included few programmes in the Romanian language and in the Bulgarian language, with the Bulgarians making up the majority of Taraclia’s population. The broadcasting schedule presented at Thursday’s meeting was considered much better and the Broadcasting Coordination Council members voted to grant the frequency to the respective radio station.
