The Broadcasting Coordinating Council (BCC) will monitor TV stations to see how they observe art. 11 of the Broadcasting Code referring to the protection of the national language and culture heritage. Yet no official decision has been taken in this respect, Info-Prim Neo reports.
BCC member Vlad Turcanu has come up with the proposal to include this issue into the order of the day, but has been opposed by fellow-members. However, the monitoring idea has been jointly accepted, although no official decision has been taken.
On Tuesday, the BCC announced a new radio contest for unused radio frequencies and TV channels. The list was completed with the TV channels put up for the tender of last Autumn, the results of which were annulled, as well as the frequencies that remained available following other contests. The broadcasting regulating authority has also put up for contest channels and frequencies used now, but those broadcasters’ licences expire till June this year.
