The broadcasters by October 6 must submit a statement on the coverage or non-coverage of the election campaign preceding the November 30 elections to the Broadcasting Coordination Council, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Council, the statements of the broadcasters that will cover the election campaign must contain the names of owners (founders/co-founders), the name of the legal entity, which is responsible for the transmission of program services, and the principles concerning the coverage of the election campaign undertaken by the media outlet.

The statement must also contain the principle of distributing and providing airtime, the schedule of airtime allotted for money or the conditions of distributing airtime for money, the tariffs for airtime that must not exceed the usual charges for commercial advertisements, and the principles of organizing electoral debates.

The broadcasters must also inform about the order in which the participants in the debates are invited and their grouping by making sure that every participant is offered equal chances. This refers both to gender quality and equality for persons with special needs, if necessary.
