Moldovan police have arrested a British man, 48, for allegedly sexually abusing four Moldovan minors, ages ranging from 12 to 15, Info-Prim Neo reports. Veaceslav Ceban, a senior officer at the Human Trafficking Center, told a press conference on Tuesday that the suspect was working in Chisinau for a foreign-owned company. He was meeting his victims, usually from poor families, in cybercafes, from where he would lure the boys to the apartment he rented with Internet for free. The boys are said to have been offered candies, money, phone cards and other things in exchange for sex. Ceban said that after searching the address the police confiscated two computers containing pornographic images with children. Detectives believe the four boys are not the only victims of the British sex offender and investigations continue to make a complete list. The identified victims are now receiving psychological care. If found guilty, the British citizen could be sentenced to 25 years in jail or to life imprisonment. The suspect will be tried in Moldova. According to statistics, 22 cases of child sexual abuse and trafficking have been reported this year.
