The Bloc ACUM is against the country’s federalization and its position will not change, Prime Minister Maia Sandu stated in a program on the public TV channel Moldova 1. She noted that even if the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration was nominated by the Socialists, the vote in the executive is common and if this Deputy Prime Minister submits federalization proposals, these will not be supported. “The vote must be of a majority in the Cabinet,” stated the politician. As to Prosecutor General Eduard Harunjen, the Premier said it would be better if this resigned. Even if he does not do this, they started work on the amendment of the law on the prosecution service and the chief of this service will have to leave anyway. Maia Sandu stated the current members of the Constitutional Court fully discredited this institution.

Mihai Poalelungi resigned as president of the Constitutional Court, as announced via a one-line note published today on the court’s website. No reasons for the resignation were given and the CC spokesperson was not available for comment.

The State Weather Service has issued a code yellow heat warning for this weekend, Friday included, with temperatures predicted to go up to 33 degrees Celsius. On Friday and Saturday, thunderstorms are predicted in the northern and central areas, with rainfall to continue into the first half of next week. Temperatures will gradually decrease to 21-24 degrees by next Thursday.
