The PNL said the Republic of Moldova for 27 years has been the victim of kleptocratic governments that alternated in the period in the second Romanian state. This is due to the fact that a lustration law to hamper the coming of ex-agents of the Russian security services to Parliament and the Government, who are now also promoted to power in Moldova by persons from Chisinau who serve the destructive regime of the Kremlin, wasn’t adopted.

According to a press release of the PNL, in the event Anatolie Caraman, chairman of the Tiras-Tighina 1992 War Veterans Association, said it is regrettable that the unionist forces didn’t manage to combine forces and form a united platform for the upcoming elections. The speakers at the meeting underlined the imperative of the union not only as an act of historical justice for the population from the left side of the Prut, which was and is still under Russian occupation owing to the presence of Russian troops on the left side of the Nistru.

According to Valeriu Munteanu, the perpetuation of the government of the leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc and the Party of Socialists whose informal leader is Igor Dodon would mean the end of any European project launched in Moldova and also Moldova’s federalization in the conditions dictated by Russia. “The guiding and saving idea of the unity of the anti-oligarchic, pro-European and pro-Romanian opposition brought me near the bloc ACUM and I’m sure this was a mature political decision with a lot of responsibility towards our citizens,” noted Valeriu Munteanu.

President Dodon said the Republic of Moldova is among the top states that rapidly lose population and remain without people. The fact that the exodus covers mainly young people is alarming. A practically irrecoverable loss of labor force is witnessed. The salvation of the nation should be the mission of any government and the preoccupation of the academic community and civil society. “All the decision makers should realize the risks of such a situation and should more firmly implement efficient social policies so as to increase the resilience of families,” stated Igor Dodon.
