The bread in the Transnistrian region will cost more from December 1. Local bread producers announced that bread prices will be raised by 5-40 Transnistrian kopeks (6.7-54 Moldovan banuts), depending on type, IPN reports.

According to the Transnistrian portal “Novostimpmr”, the bread prices will be increased because the wheat grew dearer. As a result, the prices of bakery products will rise gradually between December 1, 2014 and November 30, 2015.

In a meeting of bread makers and representatives of the Transnistrian administration, the producers said they intend to raise the prices of their products by about 30%, including because they need investments in equipment.

The bread “Firmenyi” (Proprietary”), which accounts for 40% of the bread production in the region, will cost by 40 kopeks more from December 1.
