"Grigore Țamblac" State University of Taraclia will become a branch of “Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse. The Cabinet approved the ratification of the agreement with the Bulgarian government in this regard. According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the implementation of this agreement will diversify the curricula and increase their quality, while graduates will receive diplomas in accredited and recognized specialties in the European space, IPN reports.

"Through this treaty, the parties firmly expressed their desire to improve the situation at "Grigore Țamblac" State University in Taraclia, aiming to identify optimal solutions to improve the aspects related to the quality of education in the institution," Galina Rusu, secretary of state at the Ministry of Education, said at the Cabinet’s meeting.

There will be introduced new specialties and programs in administration and management, agriculture, electrical engineering, electronics and automation.

"We hope that contexts will be created to attract investments to outfit the newly created entity and we note that the graduates will receive diplomas in accredited specialties, recognized on the European labor market. Teaching is expected to be in Romanian, Bulgarian, and English, creating a context for internationalization and openness," said the official.

"We will have the first European university with European diplomas, not only for Bulgarians from Taraclia, but also for those from the entire region – Comrat and the other districts in the south of the country," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

The agreement on the establishment of the branch of “Angel Kanchev" University was signed in Chisinau on March 26, 2024.
