Boy injured in car accident caused by inebriated father

A child was seriously injured in a car accident caused by his father who was driving under the influence of alcohol. Paulina Iakimovski, senior specialist of the Traffic Police Department’s PR Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened last night on Mircea cel Batran Blvd. Driving a Nissan-Primera on an icy road, an inebriated 35-year old man lost control of the car, which crashed into a Mercedes parked on the roadside. As a result of the impact, the man’s six-year-old boy who was in the car suffered a fracture of the left shank and an associated trauma and was rushed to children’s hospital “Valentin Ignatenko”. The father sustained a concussion, contusion of the thorax and excoriations. A Volkswagen-Golf ran into a Volkswagen-Venta on the Chisinau-Tighina route this morning. The 24-year-old driver received different traumas. The 184 road accidents that happened in Moldova since the start of this year resulted in 25 deaths and 265 persons injured, as against 240 traffic accidents with 35 deaths and 333 persons injured in the corresponding period last year.
