Europe Day this year will be marked at the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” too. There will be held a concert that will bring together young talents and professional musicians from both banks of the Nistru River. The concert will take place at 6pm on May 8, IPN reports.
The public will enjoy a performance of vocal and instrumental music and dances involving soprano Tatiana Costiuc, flautist Sergiu Morarescu from Tiraspol, tenor Valerii Sonin from Rybnitsa, panpipe player Bogdan Turcanu, violin players Alexandrina Croitor and Maria Postolachi, the resident orchestra of the National Philharmonic conducted by saxophone player Igor Znatokov from Ukraine, the dance bands “Fericire” from Chisinau and “Alyans” from Bender, and musicologist Irina Martyniuc, who is the director of the project.
The performance dedicated to Europe Day forms part of the series of ten concerts staged during a year on both banks of the Nistru River by the Chisinau Center for Cooperation and Partnership and the Tiraspol Palace of the Republic, with the assistance of the EU – UNDP Program “Support to Confidence Building Measures”. By financing such cultural initiatives, the EU – UNDP Program aims to develop sustainable partnership between cultural institutions from both banks of the Nistru and to help young people from the two banks to exchange experience and to develop their artistic abilities together.
