The water supply in Chisinau’s Botanica district was halted following an accident on the 1 200 mm water main going along Milescu Spataru St in Ciocana district.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, deputy technical director of the water supplier SA Apa-Canal Chisinau Vitalie Midari said a pipe carrying water from Ciocana to Botanica burst. “The pipe is 35-year-old and is worn out,” he stated, adding that most of the accidents in the water supply system happen because the pipes are badly damaged.
In a communiqué, SA Apa-Canal Chisinau says three crews and a number of vehicles, including an excavator, a crane and a bulldozer, are working to fix the problem.
