Two Transnistrians who committed a robbery in Boscana village of Criuleni district in January 2015 were sentenced to 13 and, respectively, 14 years in jail, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the culprits, acting in collusion with another two individuals, broke at night into the home of a young man who lived together with his grandmother in Boscana. They tied the two with ropes and stole 9,000 lei and domestic appliances. They later loaded all the stolen goods onto the victim’s car that was pared in the yard and drove away.
The 25-year-old man managed to drag himself up to his neighbor’s house and sought help. The damage caused to the victim was assessed at 440,000 lei. The car and a part of the stolen goods were found and restored.
One of the convicts was arrested in one month of the commission of the crime, while the other one was arrested in the Russian Federation in about eight months of the robbery and was extradited to Moldova. The investigation of the two accomplices continues. The two were put on the wanted list.
The court also obliged the culprits to pay 228,000 lei damages to the injured party and 20,000 lei court costs.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
