Any protest movement involves a danger of confrontations and conflicts, even physical ones, and this fact not always depends on the organizers of such movements because other forces usually profit from them, the representative of the Common Patriotic Bloc “We Save Moldova”, police general-major in reserve  Boris Muravschi, said in the public debate “Protesting movements in Moldova: motives, manifestations, typical features, developments, benefits, dangers” that was held by IPN News Agency in partnership with Radio Moldova.

Boris Muravschi said the movement he represents acts in accordance with the la and is against violence. Two directions can be now seen in the protest movements – an internal one that is motivated by the state of the people and the committed illegalities, and another one related to the external course. The unionist movement imposes its position, fact that was denied by the movement’s representative at the debate.

He noted that he respects any opinion promoted by the protest movements, but these opinions should not be imposed as the people are those who must choose who to join. “The motives of the protest movements are clear because society lives in poverty. We became a society of lies, intrigues and thefts at all the levels. We have struggled for so many years to create a legal system to enforce the law, but our efforts are useless,” stated Boris Muravschi, adding that the people are now indignant at the situation in which they are.

“Our platform is not a political movement, but it was created based on the indignation of persons who once carried epaulets and fought crime to ensure the security of our republic. We took a set of measures to unite the political parties and the movements as we are on the verge of a precipice and must all join together.”

Boris Muravschi noted that the Common Patriotic Bloc “We Save Moldova” is ready to have discussions and to join the Civic Platform Dignity and Truth”, which plans to mount a large protest on June 7. “If the state administration worked honestly and we felt this, a large number of organizations would disappear because the people would not need to demonstrate and protest,” he stated.

The debate “Protest movements in Moldova: motives, manifestations, typical features, developments, benefits, dangers” is the 39th of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates” that are organized with the support of the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
