Boris Lupașcu quits

Boris Lupașcu, who was named Constitutional Court judge by the votes of the Socialist and For Moldova MPs, renounced “the mandate that was entrusted to him”. In an application addressed to Parliament, Lupașcu asks to revoke the decision based on which he was named constitutional judge.

Contacted by IPN for details, the Parliament’s Secretary General Adrian Albu said the application from Boris Lupașcu came in the morning of April 27 and is to be registered. The legislative body’s administration will be informed about it so as that this informs Parliament.

Boris Lupașcu was unavailable for comment.

On April 23, the MPs of the Party of Socialists and the For Moldova platform revoked the Parliament’s decision by which Domnica Manole was appointed CC judge and named Boris Lupașcu in her place.

Following a challenge filed by PAS MP Sergiu Litvinenco, the Constitutional Court in the evening of the same day suspended the two Parliament decisions to remove Manole and to appoint Lupașcu.
On April 27, the CC is to examine the give challenge.
