Minister of Culture Boris Focsa may be brought before the prosecutors for questioning by force. The minister was summoned to the National Anticorruption Center two times, but he didn’t present himself. The criminal case against him was transmitted to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Center, the minister was repeatedly summoned for being questioned on February 22 as a suspect in a case concerning exceeding of authority. As the functionary didn’t appear at the Center on February 21 either, according to the previous summons, the new citation was sent to the Ministry of Culture, and the institution’s Chancellery confirmed that it reached the destination. Under the Criminal Code, the person who cannot appear before the investigation bodies must inform about the reasons. If the person does not inform and does not present oneself to the investigation body or the court, he/she is liable to a fine or may be brought by force. Boris Focsa is suspected of selling illegally a number of monument-buildings in Chisinau.
