Border-guards arrested 9 Moldovans attempting to cross Ukrainian border

A group of Moldovan citizens which attempted to cross the state border illegally were arrested by the border-guards of the south sector of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border. According to the Border-Guards Service, the group was identified during the night service, whilst the border-guards were controlling and supervising the state border. Those 9 persons, inhabitants of Cahul raion, the youngest being 19 years old and the eldest 55, attempted to cross the border illegally, put up resistance to the border-guards, trying to escape, so that the employees of the Border-Guards Service were forced to make a warning shot in order to stop them. The arrested persons were escorted to the border-guards piquet to establish their identity. None of them had identity papers. According to them, they intended to cross the border in order to find a workplace in Ukraine.
