Border activity is growing

The number of persons that cross the state border has increased by 9% compared to the last year, according to the Border Guard Service. At the same time, the number of vehicles has increased by 18%, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Last weekend, about 140,000 persons and 26,000 vehicles crossed the border, either entering or leaving the country.
1800 people crossed the border with Romania with small-scale border traffic permits.
According to a press release of the Border Guard Service, 2 persons were held at the border, while 5 others that infringed the rules of residence in the Republic of Moldova were tracked down. Besides, 41 citizens were not allowed to cross the border for various legal reasons.
