The book “Republic of Moldova on its 25th anniversary. Review attempt”, published at the Cartier publishing house, was launched within this year’s edition of the International Book Fair that is held simultaneously with the first edition of “Bookfest” in Chisinau. The book is a compilation of ideas about transition and the transformations that occurred during the 25 years in Moldova, IPN reports.
The authors said the collective volume offers disciplinary perspectives that present and analyze a particular aspect of the Moldovan transition. However, the individual contributions that are different by style and theme approach only a small part of the changes that occurred in Moldova. “These contributions represent rather preliminary incursions in a very complex theme that deserves and we hope will be more thoroughly explored in the near future,” said the authors.
Editorialist Victor Ciobanu considers such books should help society better realize where it headed for, where it arrived, what it is and where it goes. It is not at all an easy situation and this book is a very relevant example. “Many of the issues addressed here probably require a re-consideration in our collective mentality and this is the great merit of this collection,” he stated.
Researcher Tamara Caraus noted that this is an academic volume and this is the specific difference and novelty of the book. “What does this mean? It means that most of the authors of the texts published in this volume attempt to explain the phenomena and processes that took place during the 25 years from the perspective of theories, referring most of the times to concrete theories, showing the limits of these theories and trying to show how namely the case study in the Republic of Moldova will complete these theories, will confirm or deny the existent conceptions,” she said.
The book “Republic of Moldova on its 25th anniversary. Review attempt” was launched in concert with a collection of interviews with Moldovan personalities.
