Over 30 companies participate in the Book Fair 2012, the 2nd edition, which opened on Thursday, September 20, at the Moldexpo Exhibition Center. Visitors can admire books from the 19th century and 3D interactive tablets for children, Info-Prim Neo reports. At the official opening, writer Spiridon Vangheli said that one of the main goals of the event was to give the children the taste of reading. “The computer is your friend and your great enemy. The book was never an enemy, it will always be a friend. Never turn up your noses, keep your noses in your books. Our duty is to bring you closer to books, to take you by the hands beyond the literature of Moldova to that of the world. You must read willingly and you’ll discover and empire of beauty, and namely the world literature for children and teens”, said Spiridon Vangheli. The deputy director the National Library for Children “Ion Creanga” Eugenia Bejan said that this year, the Library’s stand will present the books that won awards at the Salon of books for children and youth organized by the “Ion Creanga” Library. Besides, the stand also includes the complete works of writer Spiridon Vangheli, translated in several languages. The “Librarius” bookstore’s stand exhibits a collection of exclusive books, handmade and with leather covers, with matching prices. One of the books is especially rare, as there are only 100 printed copies in the whole world. The collection of books for children includes new editions of the series “Grow up baby”, and dictionaries at discount prices. The books on sale are in Romanian and Russian. Some of the visitors say that this year there are less bookstores and stands that exhibited their books for sale. Other visitors are of the contrary opinion and say there are a great variety of books from all the domains. The Book Fair 2012, the 2nd edition, takes place between September 20 and 23 at the International Exhibition Center Moldexpo.
