The police in the evening of February 28 were alerted by an unknown who said that a bomb was planted at acasino situated in Botanica district of Chisinau. This is the eighth bomb hoax at the given casino so far and the author hasn’t been yet identified.
Chisinau Police Division spokeswoman Natalia Stati has told IPN that the announcement was made after 8pm and specialized services were sent to the scene. Both the employees and the victors of the casino were evacuated. The bomb squad searched the place thoroughly, but found no suspect object.
Premeditated lying about the preparation of explosions, arson attacks or other actions that endanger human lives, cause serious damage or other serious consequences carries a penalty of 10,000 to 25,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or at most two years in jail.
