Bomb found in Nistru River

A bomb was found in the waters of the Nistru River recently, in a place were people usually rest. The shell was disarmed by the sappers of the National Army. According to interim head of National Army’s service of military engineers, lieutenant-colonel Igor Gadarca, the bomb was found in Dubasarii Vechi village, Criuleni raion, in the Nistru River. In light of the fact that its calibre was 120 mm, a possible explosion could have been dangerous. In 12 days alone, artillery shells were found in Criuleni, Donsuseni and Cahul raions. The squad of military engineers has disarmed a mine found by a group of children in the forest located near Seliste village, Orhei raion. According to the cited source, the majority of shells are found during farm and construction works. The sappers of the National Army liquidated 146 explosive objects in different settlements across Moldova in 2007.
