The explosive ordinance disposal units of the National Army in the course of November destroyed 14 explosive devices within 12 operations performed in different localities of Moldova, IPN reports.
The team of the Bomb Squad “Codru” led by Sergeant Yevgeny Axentii was recently called out to Talmaza village of Ștefan Vodă district, where a reactive 320 mm caliber shell dating from World War II was discovered during farming works. As it was in a deplorable state, the shell was disposed of in the field in conditions of maximum safety.
So far this year, the bomb disposal engineers of the National Army performed 169 operations as a result of which they neutralized 494 explosives and 13,000 cartridges.
