Bodies of victims of Chisinau building blast not yet recovered

A woman and her son aged four died in the exploitation that rocked an apartment building situated at 11/5 Moscovei Blvd in Chisinau. A man aged 77 died in the hospital, while an elderly woman who lived at the 15th floor cannot be found. According to press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Liliana Pușcașu, the bodies of the child and his mother haven’t been yet recovered, IPN reports.

The head of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Mihail Harabagiu noted that the walls of the building are now being reinforced as there is a risk of collapse and the lives of rescuers could be endangered. The rescue operation goes on.

General Police Inspectorate chief Alexandru Pînzari said three persons haven’t been found: Olga Dolgova and her son aged four who lived on the 17th floor and Irina Podorojanskaya who lived on the 15th floor. The woman and her four-year-old child seem to be the two victims of the blast whose bodied haven’t been yet recovered. 

Another two persons – a woman in a serious state and a firefighter whose state is stable – are in the hospital, while 20 evacuated persons were lodged at the sports hall of the Saint Trinity Hospital. Others chose to go to relatives and friends.
