The former principal of Boarding School No. 3 of Chișinău municipality and a businessman were sentenced to 17 years in jail each for trafficking in children for sexual exploitation. The sentence was passed by the Buiucani branch of the Chișinău City Court, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases.
It was proven that since the summer of 2016 until September 2017, the businessman, with the consent of the ex-principal of the boarding school, lodged a minor from the institution in an apartment in Chișinău where he abused this sexually.
The child was later placed in a rehabilitation center and offered psycho-pedagogical assistance.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court within 15 days.
