Boarding School nr.2 needs substantial repairs

Mayoralty of Chisinau municipality intends to draft a repair project of the boarding-school nr.2 placed in Botanica district, the financial estimate amounting to nearly 2 million lei. School’s headmaster Galina Procop noted that the last 17 years, since she runs the school, only cosmetic repairs of the school were done. According to her, officials of the mayoralty, including the interim mayor Vasile Ursu, have visited recently the institution and convinced themselves about the high rate of wear and the need to start these works. Mayoralty representatives promised that when the real cost of the repairs is evaluated, the project will be included in priority actions of municipality and presented for approval to Municipal Council, she mentioned. Galina Procop mentioned that the institution needs repairs of the mess hall, roof and interior repairs. It is also necessary to renew the furniture. At the same time, according to her, till 20 May, when the boarding-school nr. 2 celebrates 50 years since its founding, the responsible services within the mayoralty should make fitting works of the territory, including asphalting and cutting off 80 old poplars of institution’s courtyard, which represent a risk for the children’s security. There are 574 children in the boarding-school nr.2 without their parents’ care, including orphans, with disabled parents or numerous families, as well as a group of children with mental disabilities.
