Boarding school in Ungheni could become sports lycee

“The boarding school in Ungheni meets practically all the conditions for being transformed into a sports high school,” Minister of Education Leonid Bujor said during a visit to this institution that celebrated 50 years of the foundation on May 1. The minister handed over diplomas to the best teachers and veterans in the field, Info-Prim Neo reports. A meeting was held at the school to discuss the draft Education Code, different aspects concerning the organization and holding of the Baccalaureate exams and the prospects of the boarding schools in Moldova. The institution's teaching staff made an approach to the Ministry of Education, asking examining the possibility of transforming the boarding school into a sports lycee. The boarding school in Ungheni has several dormitories, a sports ground and other components that a sports high school should have. A national contest for testing knowledge of traffic rules was held in Ungheni the same day. The Minister of Education also met with the administration of Ungheni district.
