The Center of Social Services for the Child and Family and the Association “Amici dei Bambini” will assist 29 students who will graduate from the boarding schools in Straseni and Carpineni this year in starting an independent life, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Amici dei Bambini” director Stela Vasluian said the support consists in preparing the so-called “Care Leavers 2011” group that consists of boarding school ninth-graders. The project aims to socially integrate the young people who leave the residential system. They will benefit from professional training courses, will be helped to legalize the identification papers and enter education institutions. There were selected 17 students of the Straseni boarding school and 12 students of the Carpineni boarding school. Priority was given to orphans, children who remained without parents care and who do not have relatives who could take care of them. There were conducted individual interviews that allowed knowing the background of the children such as the relations with the family, the environment from which they come, the studies that they want to have, executive director of the Center of Social Services for the Child and Family Viorica Matas has told Info-Prim Neo. The first activities for the 17 students of the Straseni boarding school will take place on January 29. They will involve two social workers, a psychologist and the Center’s manager. The “Care Leavers 2011” group is the fourth in number. The given project was initiated in 2008. The Association “Amici dei Bambini” is a nongovernmental organization based in Milan. It has implemented various cooperation projects during 13 years. The Association’s main aim is to guarantee every child’s right to family. The Center of Social Services for the Child and Family was initially a service of “Amici dei Bambini”. In 2009, it became a separate organization.
