The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) urges people to report cases of charging commissions higher than the legal ones for interbank electronic payments. According to the BNM, processing a payment order under normal regime costs 3.5 lei at most, while under emergency regime - 20 lei. These are the maximum amounts for commissions or the tariffs for payment orders received electronically, in Moldovan lei, through automated remote service systems: internet payments, pc-payments, mobile payments, IPN reports.

If the commissions do not correspond to the legal tariff limits, the natural persons or legal entities, besides claiming their legal rights, are urged to submit a petition to the BNM.

The maximum amounts of the above mentioned commissions or tariffs were established in June, by decision of the Executive Board of the BNM, and are effective since September 1, 2019. The BNM states that it is still involved in activities that encourage the use of cashless payments and the carrying out of payment transactions via electronic means.
