The 12th Biennale of the Theater “Eugene Ionesco” (BiTei) takes place in Chisinau between May 27 and June 5, 2016. Plays from 13 states such as Romania, Poland, Ukraine and Japan will be shown in the period, IPN reports.
The festival “BiTei 2016” will be opened officially on May 27 at 5pm. At 5:30pm, there will be presented the play of “Eugene Ionesco” Theater “Ubu Rege”, while at 8pm – the play “Derdiedans” of the Timisoara State German Theater, at “A.P. Chekhov” Theater.
On May 28, at 6pm, “Eugene Ionesco” Theater will host the showing of the play “Ship of Fools” of the company Niv amd Oren from Tel-Aviv, Israel. The Tbilisi Theater “Griboedov” will put on “Holstomer” at “A.P. Chekhov” Theater” starting at 8pm.
On May 29, at 3pm, a book launch will be held by Florin Vidamski at “A.P. Chekhov” Theater. The event will be followed by the showing of the play “Girl without dowry” at 4:30pm. At 7pm, the Free Theater of Tbilisi will present “The mechanic orange” at “Eugene Ionesco” Theater.
On May 30, at 6pm, there will be shown the play “Sand from garbage bins” of the Independent Theater Laboratory of Chernautsi at “A.P. Chekhov” Theater. The Botosani Theater “Mihai Eminescu” will present the play “Anniversary” at “Eugene Ionesco” Theater at 8pm.
On May 31, at 7pm, the Mogilev Theater of Belarus will present “Freken Iulia” at “A.P. Chekhov”, while the North Theater of Stuttgart will put on “Presumption” at “Eugene Ionesco” Theater at 8pm.
During June 1-June 5, there will be shown such plays as “Happy story” by the Puppet Theater of Sahalin, “Jacques and his master” by “Maria Filotti” Theater of Braila, “Behind the door” by the Lvov Theater, “Soul Tah” by DOMO Company of Chuncheon, South Korea, “Vivaldi and the seasons” by the National Theater Targu-Mures, “When the rain stops” by the Ploiesti Theater, “Seven days” by East Voice for Arts of Alexandria, Egypt, “Love” by the International Film and TV School of Paris, “Three sisters” by the Hayuza Theater of Tokyo, and Pages from...” by the Third Arrangement Group of Poland.
The festival “BiTei” was conferred the award for cultural accomplishments of major importance by the European Culture Forum.
